Strange Formatting

I'm thinking I must be doing something wrong because I have no seen any other posts about this issue.

Here is my problem, I am trying to copy and paste text from a word document that are my training materials. But once I save in the WYSIWYG editor the formatting of the material gets all strange. I end up with lines upon lines upon lines of underlined or bolded text, and I even have sentences that are moved to the end of the document.

Any idea what may be causing this problem and how I can fix it? (Right now I have to go in and fix everything and it takes me several try to get it right)

Have you tried "Clean Word HTML" Icon? I recall that this feature was one of the hardest things to code.

Using the fix Teemu mentions is the easiest thing to try.  This is a common problem with Word.  Do a search in the forums and you will find several posts on this.  E.g. HTML or Word Problems: http://moodle.org/mod/forum/discuss.php?d=5977
