Hi,

I'd just like to share with the Moodle community the joys of seeing my Forums' posts transformed into colour coded threads. It uses colour boxes for context. See attached pic. What do you think? I like it as the colour aids my eyes and mind to see the context of posts when reading forum. Plus the attractive bright hues make my day each time I see the screen.

The documentation is found on moodle.org, but the download link in moodle.org is broken. Never fear, I have found an alternate download link.

To do the same, head to http://moodle.org/mod/data/view.php?d=13&rid=1159&filter=1and to http://web2life.co.nz/content/hyper-forum-download to download the javascript code.

The direct link to the JS code is here: http://web2life.co.nz/files/hyperforum.js.txt

Let me know how it works for you.

APPENDIX

Hyper Forum is an addon that improves the readability of the Moodle forums. The purpose of this tool is to allow the users to be able to better follow complex threads. This is achieved by colour coding each post according the threads it is related to. Hyper Forum adds two coloured blocks onto each post. The first block indicates the parent of the current post, and the second indicates which posts are children (replies to) the current post.
