Could not find or create a directory

I follow http://moodle.org/wiki/index.php/StepByStepInstallMoodleOnRedhat to install Moodle on Fedora Core 3 (Apache, MySQL, and PHP are installed with the distribution CD and tested that they are working).

Installtion seems to go through. But I have 2 errors at the top of the page about "Could not find or create a directory /usr/moodledata/cache and /usr/moodledata/sessions".

Is this a permission problem with the moodledata folder? Because when finished, Not able to login using admin account, but ok for the guest login. I try chown -R apache:apache /usr/moodledata but still have the same problem.

Is the installation different between Linux and Windows because I did not receive the admin setup page at the end for Linux installation?

Thank you for any help.

I've got Moodle installed on Fedora Core laptop. I've turned off SELinux. Not sure if this is #A GOOD THING# but I could then continue with the install.
