I use e.g. 4 categories: test, homework, presentation, not_graded

* The students did 2 tests (with a maximum of 50 points) and the result of the better one should be kept for further calculation.

* They did 3 homeworks with 10 points each, so having a maximum of 30 points.

* And they could do a presentation to achieve 5 extra points.

I want to have the overall percentage of all this student-works:

e.g. if a student achieves

Test1 = 30 points

Test2 = 40 points

HW1 = 8

HW2 = 10

HW3 = 5

Presentation = not done

not_graded

=> (40 + 8 + 10 + 5)/(50 + 30 +0) = 63/80 = 78.75 %

Another example:

Test1 = 50 points

Test2 = 10 points

HW1 = 10

HW2 = 10

HW3 = 5

Presentation = 3

=> (50 + 10 + 10 + 5 + 3)/(50 + 30 +0) = 78/80 = 97.5 %

------------------------------------------------------------

If I use one category, I cannot exclude the minimum test-points and the points of the not_graded category also show up (I only could turn it off for the student view, but not for the teachers view - which is makes not sense to me, since I ALLWAYS need to see the grade the student sees).

If I use four categories,

a) and use aggregate subcategories, I cannot exclude the minimum test-points.

b) and use not aggregate subcategories, it calculates the percentage instead the sum-points of the category (this is not consistent, since the same calculation methode behaves different if used inside or outside a category).

c) and use my own formula for calculation, I cannot access the achieved and the maximum points of an acticity through formula (which would be helpfull ...).

Have I overseen something?

I spent hours on that, but have not found, how to achieve this with the new gradebook.

Anyone a suggestion or similar problem?

Best Regards,

Thomas
