I have uploaded a file (pdf document) into the repository. The file is 9.62MB in size. But because of its large size, I get the "file too large" message when I try to link to it .
In the later versions of Moodle 1.x, I was able to upload a big file through an FTP program and use it in my courses. Currently, the only way in Moodle 2.0 I can display a large file is to place it elsewhere on the public_html side of the website and use a URL link to it. This leaves that file very unsecure and anyone can see it on the Internet.
I hope there is a way that a large file in the repository can be displayed without getting an error message. I think the repository offers a secured way to storage files for course use. I understand that a large file takes a longer time to display and affect server load but as the administrator that is my decision to make especially when I put them there. I do appreciate limiting the non-administrators to a certain file size.
I hope discussed my problem clearly enough. I think Moodle 2.0 is great now that I am getting familiar with it.
