We're moving over to Moodle 2.0 from WebCT 8.0, and Banner is our student information system.
We have a large number of courses with multiple instances (e.g. one running in the UK and another running overseas), and each instance of a course has its own unique course registration number and a corresponding WebCT shell.
Many of these courses have identical teaching materials, so we have been flagging courses to be crosslisted in Banner, which automatically generates a 'parent' WebCT course and add the 'child' courses to it (student enrolments would be in the child courses)
From what I've read so far it seems that metacourses should handle this requirement, (http://docs.moodle.org/en/Metacourse_examples_of_use#1_course_that_gets_its_enrolment_from_4_other_courses)
My question relates to the actual creation of metacourses in Moodle 2 - is it possible for automatic creation of metacourses to be done in Moodle 2 via an input from Banner?
