Am I having eye problems or has the ability to set my email address to inactive been removed in 2.0RC2?
Please tell me this is a mistake, or a PEBCAK error at my end...

The deactivate email link on the user profile page is indeed gone. You can now selectively disable emails by going to your messaging settings. In the Settings block go to My profile settings -> Messaging and untick the boxes under Email.
If you have the appropriate capabilities you can also do this for other users.
This way you have more control over how you are notified of messages and different kinds of events within Moodle rather than a single on off switch.

I should have worked that out - makes perfect sense in the 2.0 model...
