In the question bank categorize all questions as Knowledge, Application, or Communication.
Create three quizzes: Knowledge, Application, and Communication.
Put Knowledge questions in the Knowledge quiz, Application in Application and Communication in Communication.
The grade will display the individual scores of these 3 quizzes (categories) and in addition the overall score.
You can have more than one quiz for each category, in which case you can create the gradebook categories Knowledge, Application, Communication and put in them the respective quizzes.
