This weekend I have had to administer several workshops with 100 students in each and this motivated me to make improvements to the user interface of the workshop module. I have submitted the changes to CVS.
The teacher now gets a table with all submissions and assessments straight on the main page of the workshop and by clicking on the table entries can view and mark. The table can be sorted by clicking on the table headings.
I believe that the old administration page is no longer needed but I have nevertheless provided a link to it so people can compare.
I have also changed some internal workings. For example teacher assessments are now used as soon as they are submitted to recalculate the grades and they also immediately show up in the table. In the old days the teacher had to wait until the end of the editing period before his changes were reflected on the administration page.
There are countless little tweaks. For example the assessment page now have a resizable frame at the bottom where one can view the submission that is being assessed. That makes for a lot less scrolling up and down the page. Also after viewing or marking a submission or assessment one is returned to the appropriate place in the grade table rather than to the top.
Of course I may have introduced may bugs. The workshop module is rather versatile and therefore it is difficult to test it exhaustively. Please let me know if you notice anything strange.
