Setting up site-wide groups is impossible

Hi,

I'm trying to experiment with site-wide groups to work out a method for customizing front page display for different groups of people, if possible.

Unfortunatelly, I can't do anything since I can't populate my front page groups with users. In the right pane of the display where potential users should be listed, I see an empty box whatever I type in the search box below.

Does anybody know if this functionality is currently available? I'm using the latest moodle 2.0 release [20101019]. Also I would like to know what capabilities emerge from these site-wide groups in the current 2.0 release?

Groups in the front page course are not the same a Cohorts (what used to be referred to as site-wide groups).

Ok, now I know.

But still, what about frontpage groups, they aren't working.

I have committed a fix for this today, the groups should work fine now in the frontpage course too.

Works well for announcements in Moodle 2.0.2. Any chance of backporting to 1.9?

i have done in moodle frontpage groupings .

but in forum i have select separate group and send a new topic for a group, when login in the system with a user's group can not see the topic !!!!

I'm using version 9.1.12+ .

please help me . that is necessary for me . .
