I usually don't comment much on the Moodle subscriptions, mainly because I'm relatively new to Moodle. However, I'm pretty savvy on many things to do with Instructional course design and such... Why I tell you this, For those who are not savvy on things to do with Web, Databases, PHP, MySql, etc... Moodle is basically LMS in a can -- for free. Otherwise, those that don't walk among "us" may find it difficult to know what plug-ins, options, drivers, OBDCs, etc to load or use.
It may be heavy, but this may be the price for `wide spread appeal, usage and effectiveness; let's not forget the guiding principals, goals and potential uses of an instrument like Moodle... bring on the masses...
