One other note, though we haven't tried it yet here in 1.9.4. If your teachers try zipping all their response files and then upload that zip file, they may be able to shave off a click or two by unzipping in files directory and then plugging in the link to a particular file.
You would need to experiment with this to see how it works.
In 1.8, there was a neat plug-in that zipped all the files to get them down and then (I *think* I remember) zipped them all to get them back up. After which, teacher's job was to unzip and then copy the link for each to paste into Advanced Uploading. . .
