REAL Basic Group Assignment Question

Okay, I've created four groups.

I've created four separate forums, one for each group.

How in the world do I assign each group to its respective forum?

Thanks!

You don't need four different forums. Simply set the one forum to either visible or separate groups (see image for illustration). Visible groups means that each group works on its own forum instance but can see (read only) those of other groups. Separate groups means that each group can see and work only on its own forum instance. hth smile

Okay, I'm just trying too hard, I think. It would be helpful for me to see if that is actually working before my poor beleaguered Adult students get rebuffed because I didn't do things correctly. smile

But, it looks like I have, and that saves me a LOT of work, considering the number of forums I use in this course.

Thanks so much, Itamar!

What version do you have? I do not have these advanced options (Grouping and Available for group members only).

Grouping needs to be activated by your Moodle admin before you will be able to see these settings.  By default it is not activated v.9+
