Hello,

based on the group self selection implementation from Gustav Delius (forum) I changed the sourcecode to specify the max. allowed members in a group for every course. In our university the size of the groups are not the same in every course. Therefore I had to add the field "maxallowedgroupmembers" in the mdl_course table. I integrated this in Moodle 1.4.2+.

Now it looks like the attached picture, when you create a new course (of course without the red frame).

Martin, could we add that functionality to the next stable release of Moodle? Perhaps we are not the only one who needs it smile

Just curious.

This seems such a fundemental issue: self enrolment, self selection etc.

Is there a reason it has not been implemented, especially with the re-design of groups. Self selection is such a basic issue.

Is it because it then requires too many other complexities, like can they leave/change choices etc etc?
