There is an easy way to share different resources among all the courses of a Moodle's site. I think it is possible using links. But is there a database of resources like the question database in the quiz module.

This would be very usefull. But does not seem possible at the time.
Is there any functionality like this foreseen for the future ? Or are there workarounds ?
Very soon now MyFiles will be coming out for 1.5, and it will let you share resource items (like word, pdf, html, image, etc.) files between courses, either using the block or the editor.

I'm really looking forward to this.
My current method of using symbolic links on linux works well, except for the big problem of backups - the symbolically linked folder gets backed up as a real folder for each course, which is bloating my moodledata directory (and even my disk) as I add more resources. A big headache.
Will the MyFiles mod take care of backup too?
