Resource types

Hi everyone,

Our entire site has been having some issues with embedded PDF files not displaying using the Resource module. First the embedded PDF will appear as a broken image/plugin, and then as a direct link to the file after refreshing the page.

I've been told that it was working perfectly for quite some time, i recently oversaw an upgrade from 1.9.4 to 1.9.9 but have been unable to find anything that would be causing this, and after booting the old servers up again it appears the issue was also occurring in 1.9.4.

If anyone else has some insight into these issues your help would be greatly appreciated. I've checked for open bugs relating to this and found quite a few from 2008/2009 but none of these seem to be in affect at the moment.
