As sent to all language pack maintainers listed in Translation credits:

Dear Moodle translators,

Firstly, a big thank you for your work as a Moodle language pack maintainer.

As you've probably heard, Moodle 2.0 is due to be released soon (see the Moodle 2.0 release notes for details). Thus, your help in translating Moodle 2.0 would be greatly appreciated!

The translation process for Moodle 2.0 has been made a lot easier, thanks to a new Moodle languages portal http://lang.moodle.org/.

If you have not done so already, please create an account on http://lang.moodle.org/ then email our translation coordinator Koen (translation@moodle.org) to request translation rights in the portal.

Moodle 2.0 language packs are generated hourly from the work of translators in the Moodle languages portal and are available for download from http://download.moodle.org/langpack/2.0/ The page also shows the percentage of translated strings for each language pack.

Note: If for any reason you feel you are unable to continue your work as language pack maintainer, please inform our translation coordinator Koen (translation@moodle.org) so that another volunteer may be found.

See Translation 2.0 for further details of the Moodle 2.0 translation process. If you have any questions, please join the the discussions in the Translating Moodle course http://lang.moodle.org/course/view.php?id=2

Thanks in advance for translating Moodle 2.0.

Kind regards,

Koen (Translation coordinator), David (Moodle HQ developer and languages portal developer) and Helen (Moodle community manager)

Hi Helen and Koen (and David wink),

Thanks for this. I've began to test the collaboration in AMOS with Séverin Terrier. We've arrived at the same conclusion: the tool is very valuable, and could enhance the translation process.

But...

For the translator's team to be the widest possible, AMOS should be localisable and translated.

What do you think about it? Is this feasible?
