I have Moodle running for our little classroom but am having difficulty wrapping my head around something (hopefully) quite simple.
In years past I used an LMS that had the following layout...
I defined a Course - it was more like a class of a type of learning event. Example: Microsoft Excel 2007 Beginner, duration 2 hours, max attendance 20, etc.
Then I would create a class using the parent object of course - it would be tied to a specific date and allow students to enroll. A teacher assigned as a resource to this specific class could see which students were enrolled and print out a class roster then close the class once the delivery was done and mark attendance.
Later, I could create another class using the parent course and the two events would remain separate but allow for reporting from the Course level object to see how many times this had been delivered and overall stats.
Moodle seems to be geared only to e-learning and not allowing this hierarchy structure of class creation. At least, I'm not seeing it. When I create a class it can span a period of time but doesn't allow me to mark attendance for just once event and then close that off. If I did I'd have to recreate a class object from scratch each time.
Is there a plug-in/add-on I'm not seeing or am I just using it incorrectly?
Thanks in advance for any help out there.
