I verified with my ftp client and file is stored ok on server and when clicking it inside ftp client it (a PDF, for example) downloads, stores and opens fine.

Moodle is working fine at a free hosting server. For that, I need to place "moodledata" on the www tree. I had created .htaccess as protection suggested and "moodledata" is 755 permission. I downloaded files, but I cannot read its. No error messages. Only a limpid white screen.
