File Uploads within Questionnaires

File Uploads within Questionnaires

Was wondering if anybody could help us out, we've looked around the forums but haven't been able to find a solution to our problem so thought we'd post it up here.

We are looking for a way to streamline the existing assessment component within our Moodle platform, which currently consists of a combination of the "Upload Single File" acitivties and the Questionnaire Mod. As both of these activities handle assessment in different ways this makes grading overall student performance across the course a challenge. What we would ideally like to find is a Mod/Activity which is a hybrid of the two, combining the assessment side of the "Upload Single File" activity with the flexibilty of the Questionnaire Mod.

The ideal solution would be to have the "Upload Single File" as a question type within the questionnaire, so that all the assessment is carried with it, however I've read in a number of places that this may not be possible? Is there any way of adding File Uploads to the Questionnaire Mod, or is there another way that we could achive this?

Any ideas regarding possible Mods or solutions to this problem would be most gratefully recived,

Hi Rob,
Are you sure you mean the Questionnaire activity, not the Quiz activity? Questionnaire belongs in the category of "survey-like" activities, which are used e.g. to gather people's opinions, etc. whereas the Quiz activity is typically used for assessment.
If you are talking about the Questionnaire activity, then there is no "file upload" question type in it.

Hi

Thanks for getting back in touch. Altough we do use the Quiz activity for other elements of assesment, in this instance we were interested in the questionnaire mod. Specifically a way of incorperating the assessment elements into it.

I realise that this is not what the activity was designed for, but we found the questionnaire easier to use under certain circumstances.

Thanks again for the reply
