Secure Questions

Secure Questions

Hey all,

I'm a new moodle user. I was wondering what the most secure quiz/test is that can be administered online. With moodle, I noticed that people can logout during a quiz and then login again later. I'd like to be able to deliver quizzes/tests remotely and not require someone to check through the logs to see if someone logged into a test multiple times. The grades should be as reliable as possible. Anyone know of any solution to this problem, inside or outside Moodle, or have any advice?

Sincerely,

Ryan Wise

Hi Ryan,
1) Use a time limit, the quiz will keep counting even if the person logs out.

2) Use random questions, the person will get a different quiz if they logout and log back in again.

3) Use the above with the new lesson (1.5 or lesson_cdc in contrib), students will get only one question at a time, making trying to cheat more difficult than learning the material.
