Modules and plugins TYPES

Looking beyond the CORE modules

There is a section on the Moodle site for
Modules and plugins and a field called
"TYPE". If I want to find a specific TYPE,
there doesn't seem to be a search or filter
option for that.

When reviewing the Module and Plugin Types,
I found the following:
Moodle Modules and plugins TYPES
- Integration
- Block
- Assignment Type
- Filter
- Activity Module
- Major Patch
- Grade Report
- Question Type
- Enrolment Method
- Message Processor
- Course Format
- Admin Report
- Integration
- Small Hack
- Course Format
- Integration
- Repository
- Database Field

But if I want to find a "Menu Module" or plugin,
there doesn't seem to be an system that creates
CATEGORIES of modules and plugins. Does anyone know if the developers are thinking about organizing the directory of modules/plugins.
I'm looking for something like what Drupal and Joomla have. Joomla has a JED - Joomla Extensions Directory. I can see where something like this would really help Moodle users find additional
extensions for their Moodle site.

Any thoughts on this, or am I all wet?
