I am new to using the Journal module & think I might be missing a trick here. Is it possible to have multiple Journal entries for 1 student? If so, how? At the moment I only seem to be able to start a Journal entry & then keep updating it as opposed to starting another entry.
Thanks in advance for any advice.
Clare
I guess there a few options:
- insert another journal activity (in the same block) and give it a different label (e.g. 2nd Journal). This way, students will have separate marks for the the two journals
- If the journal is developmental, you could ask students to draw a line to indicate the end of the first journal entry. This way, students will have only one mark regardless of the number of entries they make.
I was looking for the same thing, Clare, and ended up using 1. as described by Vili
<<insert another journal activity (in the same block) and give it a different label (e.g. 2nd Journal). This way, students will have separate marks for the the two journals>>
I put a journal in each block, for example. The students then see all their own journal entries together, but not those of other students.
The breadcrumb menu is a bit confusing, but their is a page where the teacher will see all journals in the following format
journal 1 (see 3 entries)
journal 2 (see 4 entries)
I wanted to be able to see all the entries for a given student together, but that doesn't seem to be possible, (apart from for that student themselves of course). If anyone can help I'd be grateful.
Andy
Hi Andy,
Just following up your post where you say that students can see all their own entries - I haven't been able to replicate this when logging in as a student on a demo course. Is this possible?
Thanks,
Laurence
