Does Moodle has machanism to encourage students to read contents inside

Hi,

I am new to Moodle, I am wondering does Moodle or it's plug-in has any feature to keep track of students when they access to the learning contents in the server, then convert their participation into points to measure how active in terms of login and time spent in Moodle learing?

Dear Yew Seng Ong,

There are lot of ways to implement an encouragement system in your moodle installation.

1. A certificate having different grade levels
2. Elevated permission inside the course
3. Badges which gets displayed in their posts like in moodle.org

. ETC

You just need to think about what would interest the students, and you can always find a way to achieve that inside moodle (even if not available ready-made, can be custom coded)

Does badge available when I install the Moodle installation package? Or do I need to check from the plug-in from other developers?
