faculty members do not need to submit their own work to be able to assess students' submissions. In Workshop 2.0, the teacher can assign herself as a reviewer of a work. I can even imagine a new allocation method (that is a third card at the Allocation page) that randomly picks N given submissions and allocates them to the current user (or any other given user). This way, workshop with 50 students could run in a classic peer-review mode and the teacher could just randomly pick 5 or 7 submissions to check.
Submitting on behalf students is possible with the standard "login as" feature. However I think that the teacher can just ask all students to simply upload a very short information (like their team name or even their own name or so) just to register them in the workshop. And yes - you are right - since then, you can actually assess anything, not only the submission itself.
Is my understanding of the grade calculation correct?
