Site wide Course creators

I have removed all my teachers from the System Role of Course Creator. However I am finding that when they next log into Moodle they are recreated with a System Role of Course Creator automatically. So over time, the list of System Course creators grows. So it is futile to delete them in this place.

How do I stop this happening?

How do your users log in?Do they have some kind of single sign in from your network? If you have gone to site admin>users>permissions>assign system roles and taken them out of there then this should not be happening. The other thing you might check is in users>permissions>user policies. Check that you have not by mistake set your default role to course creator.

Mary is right, but you might want also to look at :

  • Administration Front Page Front Page settings
and look at "default frontpage role", at the bottom, and reset that to Student or none.

Our users have LDAP login. In users>permissions>assign system roles we have

Default Role for all users - Authenticated user

Default role for users in a course - Student

Creator's role in new course - Not Enrol

ie all the default settings.

Have you specified a course creator role mapping in your ldap settings?
