permissions: manage entries

Hallo,

In my permissions, and in Moodle Docs, I find only one and the the same permission to allow two different things:

- edit entries (add or modify...); hand symbol

- delete entries; x symbol

I suppose there's no way to allow editing but to forbid deleting ?

If there IS a way, thanks for letting me know !

Hello Ulrike,

This looks quite logical to me. If you allow people to do something you should also allow them to undo it. Please explain why you would need things to work differently.

Hallo Joseph,

Well, personnaly I think that adding an entry is still different (it's another botton, too). They always CAN undo what they have done by EDITING it (even if the three things were seperated).

In my case, for exemple, they have to do collaborative work:

I create some entries first (so they will understand what it is about with concrete examples); after, they edit these to add their "definitions" (which are linguistical contexts, in my case) and add other entries, then others will complete these, and so on.

But they could click on the wrong button (that's human) and delete all their work on that entry...

I hope you understand...

Ulrike
