I'm currently working with a teacher and her class using the workshop module. She just started receiving tons of emails notifying her "a student as assessed the teacher sample". However, this is a problem because she has 60+ students and does not want to get 60+ emails.
Is there a way to turn this off?
If not, I'd like to suggest that in the 2.0 version this be an option on all modules in Moodle. If a teacher is running a few workshops plus other modules the emails could get really annoying and fill up their inbox.
unfortunately there is no way to control email notifications in Workshop 1.9 through the web setting If you or the server admin are able to, you can hack the source code of Moodle to disable these notifications so noone receives any email from workshop:
edit the file /mod/workshop/lib.php and find where the function
function workshop_cron ()
is defined. There are lines
// Find all workshop notifications that have yet to be mailed out, and mails them $cutofftime = $timenow - $CFG->maxeditingtime;
Just below these lines, add a new one:
and that will make Moodle to stop sending workshop notifications completely.
