Right now users have to enter ID numbers for the grade times manually (and this can be done in 2 areas which can be confusing). Also, those ID numbers can be any number, text, etc, which can also contribute to a misunderstanding between grade item name, grade ID, or name of the activity.
What can be done instead:
Remove "ID Number" field from the settings of both Activities and Grade Items, thus users will not need to enter them manually.
Populate ID Numbers to be used in calculations automatically and make them defaulted to something (e.g. to the Grade Item ID - they are unique per course, as far as we can tell).
