Hello;

I am a graduate students working on a graduation project that focuses on designing a tiny web that offers course and allow students to login in and view these classes.

I am new to this field, I have idea about PHP, went through developing documentation, tried to install moodle into my computer and don’t know how it look like…but still confuse !!!!!!!!! I have already XAMPP installed.

Any patient help to lead me gently? what should I do first? and how to start? and where I can find the right beginning?

Does moodle already works?
If you have xammp, there is a xammp version of moodle including xammp.
Do you run it on your own pc?
Do you already have a www map?
give some more info

I donot work with xammp. You have a window pc with xammp?
You should have a xammp directory with a www map in it? There you should find your moodle.
If you start your browser you go to http://localhost or http:// your IP address or http://localhost/moodle
Then you see xammp or moodle.

Tell me more about your pc, installation of xammp and moodle. Then i know what you have done sofar. Is your pc at home, at work? Is it reachable from internet, etc?
Why do you want to install moodle if you have never seen it or know how it looks like?

I don't use Windows or XAMPP, but you may find Moodle documentation helpful, especially this page: http://docs.moodle.org/en/Windows_installation_using_XAMPP

You may also want to post in the Installation problems forum instead of this one.

Mr. gr theo

I am sorry for not responding, because I am taking these days to figure out what is going on.

Here the situation: first I am using my labtop at my home for a personal project(graduation), second, I have internet access.

As I told you before I did installed XAMPP as my webserver(local for testing and is working )

I download moodle for windows and uploaded to the XAMPP directory......when I tried to install moodle by typing http://localhost/moodle  .. is saying object not found...

I don't know what is going on? is it uploading problem?

thnaks

Abdalla,

There is a manual on Moodle.org about Xammp. The download even includes moodle so you donot have to think about it, it all goes well.
One mentioned that in our mail conversation.
Your localhost is the xammp directory.
I ám not sure but there should be in Xammp another map where to put moodle. Usually there is a www or htdocs map within xammp.
Then it should work fine when you type in localhost/moodle.
If everything fails try http://download.moodle.org/windows/ and you save yourself a lot of trouble...

let me know...
