I am a newbie

Please can you tell me how do I change the header.html for my moodle site

the instructions are not clear enough for me

In your moodle installation there is a folder called themes.

I don't know which theme you are using but lets say that the one you like best is "cordoroyblue."

download the whole theme folder.

change the name of the cordoroyblue folder to mytheme.

Change header.html to however you want it.

Upload this copy of the cordoroyblue folder, now called "mytheme" to your themse folder.

Resleect the theme for your site using the moodle administration page.

The simplest way is copy a theme, rename it and work on it.

For example, take a standard logo and try to change the moodle logo (in header.html) to your logo.

Look in this file for flavicon.ico and change it!

Look in config.php and style.php and change values.

In each change, make a copy of original files.

Take a look in Themes forum in Using Moodle.

This is an efficient form of learn about themes.
