I need to add regional fonts like Tamil,Telugu,Hindi in the TinyMCEeditor as well as HTML editor.
how can i do this ?
i searched in html editor docs of moodle and it did not say anything about adding new fonts
In HTMLArea (default editor of moodle before version 2.0) it is easy: Administration > Appearance > HTML editor > Font list
but you really need to tell first which tinymce integration it is: moodle 2.0, clean port integration, theme based integration etc because you need to find first init code of tinymce (the file rendering init code) to be able to add theme_advanced_fonts tags to init code of tinymce - see http://wiki.moxiecode.com/index.php/TinyMCE:Configuration/theme_advanced_fonts
For example init code of tinymce in moodle 2.0 is written in a little different coding style (see file lib/editor/tinymce/lib.php). Administration of this kind of settings is not yet ready in moodle 2.0.
Thank you very much. i am using moodle 1.9.+.
Mean while i used google translate to type in our regional language and pasted in the text area,
i have installed my regional language pack too, the problem is when i switch to my regional language in the language drop down menu the tiny mce editor disappears and plain text area is what i get to type.
any ideas why ?
Well...Chrome itself should be fine but I am a little confused - are you really talking about TinyMCE or HTMLArea (default editor of moodle 1.9.x)?
The only thing that prevents using of Chrome with TinyMCE is lib/editor/moodlelib.php and function can_use_html_editor().
Also HTMLArea could use Chrome but that same function & lib/editor/htmlarea/htmlarea.php (browser identification there) allow only FF and IE to use HTMLArea - with a couple tiny css issues with toolbar colors.
thanks for the detailed view on whats happening, i was talking about the tinymce disappearing in chrome, YES
