I don't have a budget. I'm just a simple student that has to make use of the facilities available. I'm also not able to extensivily test the systems with numerouos users and such. My viewpoint will focus on the idea of open source for these systems and the ability to adapt them, which I will try to do myself here and there to get feel for the code and such. They are in the progress of setting up a test server that will have a more recent PHP version so my problem will be solved soon enough, I was just trying to make a point towards the systems and their usuability from a programmers point of view.
