Maximum grade only allows 5 digits before the decimal point (The database does not allow more digits than that)
So as long as the max grade is less than 100000 scoring works fine otherwise it does not.
This is an issue for us since the max grade for some of our quizzes are more than 100000 (Since it wont allow decimal points in individual grades for the questions we had to multiply our grades by thousand resulting in our max grade to be more than 100000).
Has anybody encountered this issue or has any thoughts on how to handle this?

I do not have an answer to the question, but will adjusting of the Max Grade in the quiz help?
e.g. if you have 3 questions worth 1 point, set the Max grade in quiz to 1. Then, each answer will be worth 0.33 (so you can get the decimals displayed)

where will he see the max grade with decimals after he adjusted the max grade of these 3 questions ?
You need to adjust the Max grade for the Quiz (not for each question)
Then click regrade link, if needed.
Individual responses and quiz total will be adjusted too then.
