addingURL's

Installing Moodle1.4 at my web server XS4ALL I encounterd several problems, the last of which I would like to put forward. The installation stranded just before the finish.

At the Login Page, where one has the choice to login as admin, student or guest, clicking on any of the links had the effect of adding URL's. For instance, my site is at

http://www.eerkens.net/moodle

and then pointing at a document, say the index.php at the folder /moodle/admin, with has the full URL:

/usr/local/WWW/www.eerkens.net/htdocs/moodle/admin/index.php

clicking will result in the URL:

http://www.eerkens.net/usr/local/WWW/www.eerkens.net/htdocs/moodle/admin/index.php

a file Internet Explorer is so kind to mention not to be found.

Someone out there has any idea of the cause of this adding?

I must admit having trouble in understanding the part of the installation where I had to enter three adresses:

Web adress:   http://www.eerkens.net/moodle (other suggestions of my part were not accepted)

Moodle-map:  /usr/local/WWW/www.eerkens.net/htdocs/moodle

Data:   /usr/local/WWW/www.eerkens.net/htdocs/moodledata

Thanks for answering. Nice to know you care.

I found my own solution. During Install, when installation requires Web adres, Moodle-map and Data, I got stuck finding a working Web adres. Trying several possibilities, I found the wrong one working, which meant going on with installation. All other possibilities gave the Wrong-Web-adres-quote.

Having messing around by trying to edit config.php and other files I decided to delete all moodle files at the Web Server and reïnstall moodle.

Again trying several Web Adresses, moodle accepted the proper one. So now moodle is sitting at my Web Server, waiting for the solution of my next problem:

I never was asked to register as administrator, so I cannot log in as one. The logical try of "admin" and "admin" does not work. And accessing my MySQL-database is not a language I speak or write. So that's what I am going to do, looking through these files for an answer to this next problem.
