Is there a way to show/determine total user use day-to-day over a period of time? E.G., it would be helpful to demonstrate to the administration how many students have used Moodle:
XXX students on 10/14
XXX students on 10/15
XXX students on...

I have the next question: we would like to have a search function for user, ip-adress and so on.
Not an answer, but on the front page - in that part (of your theme) header.html - you could insert:
