I have recently finished work on a PHP script which allows you to transfer a student from one moodle course to another, and also copies that student's assignment data across as well.
Our company is using moodle quite extensively and we required the functionality to transfer students between different courses, which did not appear to be available so far for moodle, the only option was to unenrol a student, whereby deleting their assignment records as well.
The script I have written takes care of this problem fairly well.
If anyone is interested in this I am happy to share the code around. Just thought i'd post here and see if anyone else is keen to use it.
