I am running Moodle (1.9.7 (Build: 20091126)) on Mac OS X Server (ver. 10.5.8, build 9L34) and trying to use the external database enrollment with Chancery which has an MSSQL (2005) backend. I have successfully done this with a windows test server using ODBC as a go-between, but continue to have no success with the Mac (which is where our Moodle will stay, so please don't suggest otherwise).
I have been working on this for several weeks.
After failing time and time again with the mssql option, my latest manuever was to create an ODBC resource using OpenLink's 'Express Edition SQL Server' driver (which successfully connected to the MSSQL database on the Windows box), but I could not get the odbc_mssql option to work, either.
Please help. Any experience or ideas are welcome.
I tried to include all relevant information, but if more is needed, let me know.
