Another way to duplicate is to log-in to your Moodle twice - use 2 TABS in your browser or run your browser twice.
Then simply copy & paste from the HTML editor of your 'master' course to the HTML editor of the new course you are creating.
This is much easier and quicker than zipping up and then exporting/importing between courses, and you can 'see' the results as you do it.
