So I implemented it as a choice for the admin. Are there any situations where Arabic is used LTR? Are there any other RTL languages?
Are there situations where Arabic is used LTR? I don't know Arabic, but I do know that numbers even embedded in an LTR text are entered and read LTR but the font end processor surely takes care of this automatically.
All of the rest of the RTL languages these days are ones based on either the Hebrew or Arabic scripts, Yiddish for the former and Armenian, Kurdish, Farsi, Pashto, Sindhi, and Urdu for the later. There may be some more minor ones in the former Soviet Republics that border the Arabic script-using countries to the south. Chinese is no longer written RTL, nor is Japanese.
Of the above, Farsi (Iran) and Urdu (Pakistan) are good candidates for future language modules since they are national languages with large numbers of computer users.
Actually, someone is working on a Farsi translation - I should check how they're going.
It will be interesting to see how the other languages Tom pointed out will change.
ptervin...who is probably BTT more often than not.
