I was playing around with different views plus I upgraded from 1.9.3 t0 1.9.7 in between doing this. Beforehand I had one large table showing now it just shows the aggregate. I can export and get all the information but like seeing it as the long table.
I use Moodle as a supplement to in-class work and not for an overall grade.

Have you tried the settings in the 'My Report Preferences' tab? Can you attach a screenshot? 
I am having the exact same problem. I am using moodle 1.9.5. I've looked at the My Report Preferences tab and don't see anything that would cause this. I cannot enter any grades because the assignments don't show up either, even with Editing turned on. I sure good use some help on this one.

I found a work around. I could only see the aggregate total when logged in as an administrator. I made a fake user, signed them as a teacher of the course, relogged in as that teacher, and all is well. I don't know what was wrong with the administrator yet. If someone does find out please let me know.
