What is the future of Dialogue (or email plugin) in Moodle 2.0?

I have a Moodle site which is used to sell software. I am wanting to do as much of the processing in Moodle as possible and am looking at options for communication with customers.

The two that I am looking at most seriously are:

My questions are:

  • What does Moodle 2.0 hold in store for both of these?
  • Will messages continue to be available in both in 2.0?
  • Does anyone have any advice on which I should use?

Hi Peter
The University of Waikato and Catalyst IT (Moodle Partner) worked to upgrade the Dialogue module for Moodle v1.9 in 2007. As heavy users of the Dialogue module we are committed to maintain the code and plan to upgrade it for Moodle 2.0.
