Gradebook

I'm wondering if anyone knows where in the code I can override the settings so that students see all of there hidden assignments no matter what any of the settings are. (ie. teachers often hide assignments after they are submitted to clean up the course for the students, but the students still need to see the grades)

I'm using Moodle 1.8.3 (I know that we need to upgrade it, but it highly customized for our needs)
