Assignment

I'd like to import my questions and ideally, my categories from a 1.8 database into a 1.9 Moodle installation.

Is that possible and how would I do it? Is it a simple matter of importing the data from the tables that contain the questions from the 1.8 Moodle into the new datasbase of the 1.9 Moodle?
