Courses and course formats

Hello,

I am new to moodle and I have been testing it out since last few days.

I want to let students to join the weekly course anytime, and the course duration starts for the particular user at the time they join

Also they can see the weekly topics from the day they join and not a common date as (I suppose) the currently weekly format does.

How do I achieve that ?
