We have been looking at trying to setup appropriate categories and roles with moodle and have encountered the following problems:
1. Would you need to set up a custom role to enable a person to be a course editor (teacher) but not show up in the list of teachers for that course?
2. At the moment most of our sub-categories are hidden, while we develop appropriate courses. A teacher who is made an editor in a category can see the courses they need to edit. A teacher in a hidden sub-category can't see the course they have the right to edit.
Is there a method of having hidden sub-categories and teachers being able to see and edit them?
3. Is there a way of assigning a role at a category level and it will work for all sub-categories?
Eg. Category Science, with sub-categories for each year. Then setting a person at science level, so they can be a teacher at all sub-category level course.
