Well well well, quite happy to tell I managed doing it!
It was stressful, but here I'm am now with exactly what I was looking for.
I will try now to explain what I did, if it may in someway be any help.
The difficulty for me was to understand the tutorials or wiki I was reading, because I always felt that they were at some point to vague or unprecise with the use of the embed code with a SWFObject.
Everywhere I could read that for the player to work I had to upload three important files:
- the player that has the .swf extension
- the playlist that has the .xml extension
- the swfobject that is always named (for what I have observed) swfobject.js
and to write the given embed code in an html box.
So many times I tried to install differents player with no luck...
until the first tilt (this afternoon):
At the end of the tutorial I found this :
The most common problem when integrating the flash music player is the location of the .swf file on your server. If you have copy/pasted the embed code and you don't see the flash music player, it's simply because the web browser is looking for the swf file at the wrong location. Here is quick checklist for trouble shooting purpose
So my problem was obviously here, I had to point to the path of the three importants elements.
Despite that knew knoledge, I didn't know where, in the embed code, to write the specified directories.
The second tilt came few minutes ago.
Below the single embed code I found this important message :
Of these parameters, the most important one is the src. This contains the location of the SWF file to include, (here player.swf). If the SWF file resides in another directory, we can point to it with a relative path (eg. flash/player.swf or an absolute path (eg. http://www.myserver.com/flash/player.swf)
This message showed me where to write the directory for a .swf file.
Although this demonstration was made with this simple code, I was then able to use my former found and more complex code with the swfobject, where I transpose the technique I had just understood. To be clearer, below I give the code I use and the changes I made.
This is what I got from premiumbeat.com:
This text will be replaced by the flash music player.
var so = new SWFObject("playerMultipleList.swf", "mymovie", "295", "200", "7", "#FFFFFF");
To write the proper directory of the red files, I went to the folder where I had uploaded them and by right-clicking I selected "Copy Link Location" and replace the words in red by the proper link.
I then just had to save, and voilà!!
One really cool point to start from is the setup wizard (from Longtailvideo.com) that lets you customize the aspect of your player (audio or video), and instantly gives you the embed code on which you just have to do the changes I mentionned.
My guess is whatever the player you use, if it has a swf object the process would be the one I just tried to describe.
I apollogize for this long message, but I tried to be as clear as I could because I think this is the kind of really basic help I would have needed.
Can I use this code for an MP3 player?
