Hello friends,

Trying to install moodle on local server but having trouble with it.

I am using Windows 7 RC1 (Build 7100). with Wamp 2.0 installed on it. (Apache Version:2.2.8, PHP version: 5.2.6, MySQL version:5.0.51b). During installation
1. it "PASS"es all the tests,
2. asks and creates the moodledata folder,
3. asks for database detail and when the details are submitted, it takes a little longer time and a blank page is shown and no tables are created moreover the config.php is also not created.

Any idea where the things are going wrong?

I am using Windows 7 (build 7600). I tried following the Vista installation Instructions.

* I copied all files from MoodleWindowsInstaller-latest-18.zip to c:\wwwroot

* Apache doesn't run on port 80 because the Windows 7 Kernel uses port 80. This is revealed with the command netstat -ano
To  get started I changed the apache port in server\apache\conf\httpd.conf to Listen 8080

* I ran "Start Moodle.exe" as administrator

* http://localhost:8080 shows the Moodle installation page. In the database creation step my browser freezes. After that, the site is unavailable, even after Stop Moodle.exe / Start Moodle.exe.

* After re-copying the files from the zip, I created a folder "c:\wwwroot\moodledata", with full rights for the user group Everyone.

* I copied server\moodle\config-dist.php to server\moodle\config.php and modified the passwords to match server\passwords.txt

* After re-starting moodle using Start Moodle.exe, http://localhost:8080 claims the database is unaccessible.

What am I doing wrong?

The solution outlined in this thread for Vista does not work for Windows 7
