Thanks for the helpful information. The hosting company said we could purchase a VPS option and would then be permitted to use the cron script. Really don't want to pay more but will see what it costs. Otherwise if anyone knows of an external cron hosting company - even a free one, or someone who could add it to to their own hosted crons?
