I use Moodle 1.9.5+ (Build: 20090826)
Probably this is a common question, but I didn't find any FAQ about it.
How could I assign a grade to a student manually?
I'd like to put a grade to a student independently from any task or assignment or quiz.
Is it possible? How? Many thanks.

You could create a manual grade item: see here
The link you told me says:
"These grade items are created manually through the "Edit Categories and Items" page. "
But in my
Site Administration I only have these:
Notifications
Users
Courses
Grades
Location
Language
Modules
Security
Appearance
Front Page
Server
Networking
Reports
Miscellaneous
and within Grades I find:
where is "Edit Categories and Items" page?
Thanks.
Eventually I found it! Quite well hidden within the course item itself.
Thanks, Daniele

Ok, now I can see a new column titled "grades" within the "Grader report" under the "View" tab, but how could I manually edit that column?
